FUQ - Frequently Asked Unasked Questions
Since no one has really asked any questions, I thought I'd come up with a few of my own for my own enjoyment as I doubt anyone really would care to read them.
Q: Did the world really need yet another cigar blog?
A: No it didn't. I did not start this blog to try to be yet another voice amongst the crowd, I did it because started to keep a journal of the cigars that I try. I decided to post them online in hopes that one of my journal entries may help someone decide to broaden their cigar horizons.
Q: Are you affiliated with a retailer or manufacturer?
A: Why? Are you offering? All joking aside, no I'm not. I am a casual cigar smoker, not an industry insider. My local fine tabacconist, Habana Port Cigar Merchants, may get a lot of mentions in my reviews but I in no way represent them in any capacity.
Q: Why don't you review higher end cigars?
A: As much as I would love to review the high dollar smokes every week, the monetary realities make that all but impossible. I am not a independently wealthy trust fund baby. I do not get paid to review cigars and the manufacturers do not send me free cigars. I am a blue collar worker with a tight cigar budget.
Q: What's up with the graphs on your reviews?
A: I use a histogram graph in my reviews. Many people find a histogram graph is easier to identify trends with. If you find you tend like cigars where the graph is weighted toward a few points it makes it easier to identify those flavors that you respond to.
Q: I tried the cigar you reviewed and I didn't taste anything you wrote. You're full of crap.
A: While not a question, it is valid.. Reviews are subjective and everyone's palate is unique. If two people could smoke the exact same cigar, both people could taste different flavors in it. I can only tell you what the smoking experience was like for me.
